Alesis M1Active reviews. Wow, I was surprised how clear these things were. I was a little skeptical how much bass they would have but they are great. Remember they are recording monitors so you have to be in front of them.
I can jam in my room and not drive everyone else in the house nuts because they are only loud for me!
Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great little monitors These seem like good inexpensive monitors so far. I am using these in a different way– as part of a synth rig, playing with a small band.
They have worked well to allow me to practice songs, work on orchestrations, etc. I use them with an Alesis Multimix 8 rackmount line mixer.
We’ll see how well they hold up! Rated 5 out of 5 by Cherv from Even better than pro headphones I use these to listen to music and to play digital piano at home. I think that nothing could do the job better. Forget about sub, the bass is enough for home use.
Instruments sound naturally and with plenty of detail. Zctive look very reliable and do not heat too much THey have a little hiss and buzz, but it is nomal for active speakers, passives have no practically. Rated 4 out of 5 by Recursive Lament from Good reference monitors Good speakers, just got them set up and aimed properly.
I can tell now if an mp3 is low quality or not.
These do not color the sound like my previous monitors did. They are heavier than I expected, but this is not a flaw.
They seem to be well built. The room adjustment controls are nice, but hard to use since they are at the back of the speaker.
Not so bad if you only ever need to adjust them once. Rated 4 out of 5 by theArk0s from Great Entry-Level Monitors I alesks these for a small home studio and they’re great for listening to mixes and cuts when working with ProTools. Can’t find a better value at this allesis range or even higher without going way up in budget – definitely worth it and then some.
Rated 5 out of 5 by subliminal tha kid from superb mix with these You have to learn how these speakers sound, so do a couple of mixes first I only use then for mixing vocals, they ard okay for mixing beats but aoesis is not good so avtive kinda hard. They give you such the perfect sound, meaning, what they sound like on here is what they will sound like everywhere Rated 4 out of 5 by The Wizard of Goz from A wlesis monitor I read a lot of consumer reviews about this particular monitor before I made my purchase.
The trick to effective response from these monitors is to have the switches on the back set at the corrent positions. It took me probably a half hour in trying different switch combinations on each monitor to get the sound I needed and expected, and for their price and size they are very good, indeed.
The only downside for some might indeed be the bass response, but what can one realistically expect from a 5 woofer? A subwoofer can always be added if a really boomy bass activve required, but as they are is fine for me. I’ve been recording in a home studio setting since MIDI and digital audio was in it’s infancy in the mid 80’s, and I can recommend these s without reservation.
If you order these, RTFM! Rated 5 out of 5 by Papapowell from Well worth the money and then some. The monitors are perfect; small but power packed! The bass levels are superb for smaller recording spaces. You won’t be sorry you bought these!! Be 1m first to review this item. Alesis M1Active accessories. See any errors on this page?
