Goodreads wben you keep track of books you want to read. If you’re into computers, then this is a fun story to read and if you’re not, you should probably stay away from this book.
Thanks for telling us about the problem. Parece como que al autor no le interesaba lo que iban a hacer los personajes para intentar sobrevivir en ese mundo. Lots of them are also designed to withstand a nuclear attack. The story follows one specific group and the decisions they make about what to do in the aftermath. Of course they went back. Read as part of the Wastelands collection of short stories.

The thing that really makes it plausible is, and I think every sysadmin has felt this, the feeling you get when docgorow in a server room. Wonderful story, but I kept wondering rulsd whole time, why weren’t they printing out every useful bit of survival and geographical and machine maintenance and biofuel making information they could find online in preparation for the generators running out of fuel? I guess it could be because the buildings had no power and the generators ran out of fuel, but surely that group could have engineered their way out of that problem.
Published inand clearly inspired by the September 11,plane attacks in the United States and the London Underground and bus bombings ofDoctorow’s story is a loving tribute to the independent spirit, resilience, integrity and idiosyncratic habits of sysadmins.
Felix could corg walk out into the bleakness, wandering among the ruined city and its dead citizens until he died of starvation and thirst. I listened to this out of curiosity when I saw someone in the tech community recommend it as supplemental reading for Ops people. Want to Read saving….
